Letter to the Participants

Welcome Participants

It gives us immense pleasure to welcome you to Kontigence’s The Influencer. By participating in this unconventional event, you get the opportunity to broaden your horizons and demonstrate your abilities as an individual who can influence society. The importance of influence and marketing today is paramount, and The Influencer aims to imbibe a sense of its importance in all its participants.

In an age of digital exchange of information, it is crucial to be able to communicate with a large number of people freely, not only to advocate for something you believe in, but also to spread awareness about a project you're working on. Communication and influence are key in the modern world, and Kontigence aims to develop these skills through the Influencer.

The Influencer is perfect for the part of you curious about the workings of the conjunction of online marketing and socio-behavioural psychological patterns and how they come together to become what we know to be as social media marketing. We aim to instigate a sense of a communicator and a critical thinker in you, and we are sure you’ll enjoy the process, and perhaps, even consider higher studies in the field.

Good Luck!

Team Kontigence

    • Compliance with applicable rules and regulations governing the promotion and all prizes offered (example: registration and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals)

  2. You must not inaccurately tag content or encourage users to inaccurately tag content (example: don’t encourage people to tag themselves in photos if they aren’t in the photo)./span>

  3. Promotions on Instagram must include the following:

    • A complete release of Instagram by each entrant or participant.

    • Acknowledgement that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.

  4. We will not assist you in the administration of your promotion and cannot advise you on whether consent is required for use of user content or on how to obtain any necessary consent.

  5. You agree that if you use our service to administer your promotion, you do so at your own risk.

Guidelines

Each participant will be provided credentials for their respective Instagram IDs by June 30 2021 that will be used for the event. The participants may not change the credentials of the said accounts under any circumstances, unless Team Kontigence approves the same. Failure to comply with these guidelines can result in the disqualification of the participant from this event, as well as any other events that the participant is involved in.

The participants will operate their account from 1 July 2021 12:00 PM GMT to 11 July 2021 12:00 PM GMT. Any activity outside the allowed time will not be assessed, and the participant may be disqualified for the same.

The activity of the participants will be judged by a proprietary combination of three factors — the total number of followers, the impressions of the posts, as well as the number of comments and such interactions with the content.

All participants would be using information available directly from Kontigence and updates from Team Kontigence on the Discord server to create the content and post it on their Instagram handles.

Participants can submit an additional document detailing their strategy for the marketing strategy, detailing any psychological reasoning they used in their content, including the overall design guidelines for their content, and any laws of UI content (like the Gestalt theory of principle design, Fitt's UX Law, or the Exposure and Propinquity effect). Participants are encouraged to do their own research regarding the same and include the same in their content and additional document. The additional document may yield advantage to one participant over another via demonstration of knowledge and its application in the Instagram account.
